Happy end of the year and happy new year!

My blog has been very quiet for the past couple of months as I have been traveling around Southeast Asia. A month in Vietnam and a month in Cambodia has now brought me into Thailand. I sure miss my mini studio but making art while traveling is pretty good. As soon as I can reach a scanner I will update the blog with sketches from my travels.

I am looking forward to continuing my circle around the world - hopefully making it as far as Europe. To 2014!

A fun end to this crazy jam-making, zucchini-bread baking, bread kneading weekend.
The real apricot jam recipe can be found here. Which by the way, ended up tasting fantastic.

Last week Alyssa Block came to my studio to chat and and photograph my work for her new project, Workspace SF. Workspace SF features emerging and mid-career artist workspaces in San Francisco. For any one reading this outside of the United States, San Francisco is a small and beautiful city where it's notoriously hard to find apartments let alone a separate studio space to work in. Workspace SF gives readers the privledge of being able to peek inside the makeshift workspaces, apartments and studios of artists in this city. Check it out!

The framed artwork to the left is by my dear friend Hiromi Maruo. The middle bag is full of my scraps. Both flyers on the left are from cool stores in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo from my trip to Japan.
