Hello! This week I am preparing to install my solo show at Kearny Street Workshop in San Francisco. Kearny Street Workshop is the nation's oldest multi-disciplinary arts organiztion that supports Asian American artists. That is very amazing! My show includes drawings and screen prints, about the world, time and what is coming next.
Also, mark your calendars for SF Art's Commission PASSPORT event! I am pleased to be one of this year's participating artists. The event takes place in North Beach on October 14th. Details can be found here.

Wow! After 244 years the Encyclopedia Britannica is ceasing to print. Coincident or not, this weekend I am flying up to Seattle to teach a workshop to high school students in The AIGA Link Program, using out-of-date encyclopedias to create new book structures. Perhaps it's a simple reminder of how interesting altered books can be, particularly when they involve uncovering layers of hidden meanings.
I am absolutely looking forward to seeing what the students come up with and can't think of a better time than now to transform a dusty old book into something treasured and new.
Wish us luck!

Thanks to Stephen Jenkins, phD and curator of Lawton Gallery, University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, for a feature on his blog, Accordion Publications.
Accordion Publications has many beautiful examples of the accordion book structure. From catalogs to artist books, Stephen's blog has it all. I am thrilled to be a part of it. Make sure to check it out!
